2 women win tickets in ‘Omo wash and fly to Brazil’: Unilever splashes K120m prizes

Unilever Malawi on Friday conducted the draw of the “Omo wash and fly to Brazil” promotion which saw two women winning tickets to fly to Brazil on June 22, where they will watch World Cup game between France and Equador.

The winning names are Mercy Chisale and Nagavani Swamiie.

According to Unilever Malawi marketing manager, Wongani Vinkhumbo, the two winners will depart Malawi for Brazil on June 22 and expected to back home on June 28, 2014.

Vinkhumbo said so far the company has spent K120 million for the whole promotion and that they described the promotion as successful.

Unilever Malawi country’s manager Chikondi Ng’ombe while appreciate the overwhelming support received by the competition promised more sparks from the brand and company as it was a way of them announcing a comeback after long silence.

“The promotion has been successful and I promise that there is more to come from Omo and Unilever.

“I would like to assure our customers that we are still above all thanking people that participated in the promotion after being off the market for some time,” said Ng’ombe.

During the draw, a Mzimba Hola based businesswoman woman Ellen Mponela could be considered unlucky to have been withdrawn from the top most prize of a ticket and settle for washing machine after she conceded to not hold a valid passport as the rules of the competition stipulated.

Other consolation prices included 2 washing machines, 8 DSTV sets, 2 logic Irons, 15 soccer jerseys, 5 humpers, 15 T shirts, 20 footballs, 6 T shirts.

This was the last draw of the promotion that on April 1.

To enter the competition, customers had to buy a 500grams or 1 kilogram packet, write their details on the back of the receipt and drop at Peoples shops, Shoprite and Unilever Distributors.
