3 arrested for theft at Suncreast Creameries

Blantyre Police Thursday arrested 3 men for attempting to steal at Suncrest Creameries Limited in Blantyre.

Blantyre Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) Elizabeth Divala confirmed the arrestsm saying the 3 men will face burglary charges.

The 3 are; Maxwell Tiyesi, 28, of Traditional Authority (T/A) Changata in Thyolo ,Gray Wanyasa, 21, of T/A Nsaomba in Blantyre and Solomon Kainga, 23, of T/A Nsamala, in Balaka District.

“The incident happened on the night between October 25 and 26 when our patrol team saw a minibus Toyota with plate number NU 5518 outside Suncrest Company. There were men inside and as we were going towards the minibus they started fleeing and we manage to arrest the 3,” Divala said.

After searching the premises, the police found 95 cartons of suncrest products in the minibus each carton containing 12 Boxes of juice including 22 Containers of 5 liter juice bottles.

According to Divala, the two; Maxell Tiyesi and Gray Wanyasa were the driver and conductor of the minibus respectively whilst Solomon Kaonga worked as a guard at Suncreast Creameries.

Currently, Police is on a man-hunt to arrest more people that were involved in the theft as some fled the crime scene.
