Samson Fiado, a year three student at the Malawi Polytechnic will attend as a finalist in “Global innovation Through Science and Technology-GIST Tech-I Competition” whose awards will take place during GES.

The other three attendees are Chief Executive Officer for Lala Investments, Mike Chilewe Junior, Lombola Lombola of Bamboo Express and Executive Director of Jubilee Enterprise, Karen Chimkwita.

The Summit, to be attended by United States President Barack Obama, is an annual gathering of various entrepreneurs, including social entrepreneurs, business people, venture capitalists and foundations, to participate in an intense two-day conference to network, learn from each other, and identify ways to improve the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

It is a White House initiative that partners with a different host country each year to showcase the dynamism of the local environment and hopefully strengthen entrepreneurial infrastructure.

To generate publicity and sensitize the public, especially young people about GES 2015, the U.S Embassy will hold a series of entrepreneurship workshops in the cities of Mzuzu, Blantyre and Zomba at the end of June.

GES is now in its sixth year and will be held in sub-Saharan Africa for the first time.  This year the summit will have an overarching focus on generating new investments for emerging entrepreneurs, with a particular emphasis on women and young entrepreneurs.

Let we the youth discover our own means to be entrepreneures, just as Gospel kazako says”when you want to start business dont think of abank loan because banks favour those who already have resources, let us use the resources within our means to get ourselves out of our poverty.”

Quite often ego and entrepreneur success go hand in hand. So dont condemn Mike for being pompous. Inu osakhala pompous inu what are doing? Think of people like Mike Mlombwa, Mulli etc onsewa ndi ozipopa as you call it. That extends to business. No wonder they succeed in life. Ofatsa inu zigwirani mu ofesi.
