6 Mozambique accident victims arrive in Malawi

Government has said six Malawians, including two children and two pregnant women have arrived in Malawi from Mozambique after they were involved in a fatal accident in Tete which claimed 11 lives.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Francis Kasaira said another ambulance has been sent to Mozambique to get back home some more Malawians involved in the accident.

“The government has also sent another ambulance to repatriate bodies of three Malawians who died in the accident,” he said.

Government authorities on Wednesday rushed to Mozambique after reports that a South African bus, carrying 68 passengers, mostly Malawians was involved in an accident in Mozambique.

South African registered Nyamende Bus Transport Services was involved in an accident in Mozambique.

The bus registration number is KM256NGP and the trailers motor vehicle registration number is KM10NGP. Katsaia however refused to confirm reports that the bus was over speeding.
