69 predict right for Karonga United v Bullets game in TNM’s ‘Predict and Win’ promo

Rookies in Malawi’s TNM Super League, Karonga United,  stunned defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets 1-0 during their match last Sunday at Mzuzu Stadium and one  football supporter Loveness Mphomde profited from it when she predicted the right scoreline in the league’s ‘Predict and Win’ promotion.

Mphonde, a Ndirande-based fan for Bullets’ arch rivals Mighty BeForward Wanderers,  was one of the 68 others who predicted the score right and she becomes the first woman to claim the MK50,000  prize after the weekly draw done on Wednesday at TNM head office in Blantyre.

The second monthly winner of MK100,000 went to Big Bullets fan Macfield Rancho, who got it when he predicted that the June 6  match between Silver Strikers and Kamuzu Barracks would end 0-0.

TNM’s Public Relations & Sponsorship Manager Limbani Nsapato said in its second month of the promotion, a total of 1,107 were recorded — 308 for Kamuzu Barracks v Silver, 661 forKamuzu Barracks v Red Lions and the 69 for Karonga United v Big Bullets.

Last month’s MK100,000 winner was Thondwe-based Nyasa Big Bullets fan Dickson Nkuliwa.

Nsapato said the supporters’ response continues to be impressive and urged the fans to maintain the hype.

He said since the launch of the promotion, TNM has splashed out MK600,000  and airtime worth K2,500 to 82 winners.

The sponsors of the country’s top flight football league are running the ‘Predict and Win’, as well as another called ‘Sapota Kawawa’, which are  intended to create a platform for supporters to actively engage themselves throughout the 2016 TNM Super League season.

The Predict and Win gives an opportunity to supporters to predict results of the matches through SMS while Sapota Kawawa promotion, which shall be restricted to social media, will allow soccer lovers a change to participate in the promotion by posting their latest photos captured at the stadiums on TNM’s social media pages. s participation of the two promotions it has introduced this season called ‘Predict and Win’ and ‘Sapota Kawawa’.

There are weekly draws in which the main winner gets MK15,000 and 10 others MK2,500 worth of airtime.

Nsapato said they were also impressed with the level of participation by the teams that saw rookies Karonga United beating defending champions Big Bullets.

“There have been some unexpected results, which shows that the level of competition is high. As a brand we have introduced these promotions to fully engage football fans in the sport with TNM SMS service and let them participate beyond just watching the game and we are excited with participation of supporters during the first week of the promotion as demonstrated by the predictions that we received from them,” Nsapato said.

The grand cash prize of K1.5 million shall be given away at the end of the season in December.

To predict, subscribers are required to send SMS of their prediction to code 1515 i.e MAX 1-CIVO 1. Predictions shall close 30 minutes (2pm) before kick-off of selected game.

In the Sapota Kawa promo, participants shall simply be required to take their images as they cheer and support their respective clubs and send them to TNM’s social media handles that include; Twitter: @alwayswithyoumw, Instagram: @alwayswithyoumw and Facebook: Telekom Networks Malawi Limited.
