The celebrated acoustic musician, who has performed with international stars including Malian legend Salif Keita and Zimbabwean superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, tackles hot-button issues affecting the people of Malawi such as early marriages as well as celebrating the blessedness of Malawi’s life.

He said he was happy to launch his debut album which will turn him into a professional artist.

“This album is about love, care and gender issues. Children and women in particular need special attention and care.

“I also want to fight old harmful practices which are still happening today in the villages,” explained Agorosso about his album.

In the eight-track album comprising the songs: Jairo, Maria, Nalira Jiko Anga, Bwera, Dzaone, Kulowa Kufa, Mukamutule Kumudzi, Mawoko and Folle, he also features children from Jacaranda School of Orphans.

Agorosso’s musical path goes back more than fifteen years ago, when he first started playing on a guitar he had made with a metallic pot, a goat skin and nylon strings, in his native home village of Kadamera, in Bangula, Nsanje.
