Dubbed ‘Airtel Trace Music Star,’ the overall winner in the country will win K14 million plus given a chance to compete with other African winners at a Pan African Concert.

Disclosing the news to journalists in Lilongwe on Tuesday, Airtel Malawi Managing Director Heiko Schlittke said the competition will take place in 13 countries where the company operates and will run from October 7 to December 10 2014.

“We believe the passion for music is one of the core attributes to Malawi. Music is a language that knows no boarders and with this competition, Airtel would want to see a great deal of creative talent and being rewarded,” he said.

To join the competition, subscribers should call the Airtel Trace Stars number 59911.

The overall winner on the African scene will win a cool US$50 000 alongside a recording deal with Kon Live, a distribution label through Universal Music Group and an intense mentorship program with Akon in the US.

You Guys are very expensive. Why? Don’t you consider the economy of the country that you are operating from? You are a shame indeed.
