Airtel unites Malawi’s top musicians with Mwezi Wawala

Giant mobile telecommunications company, Airtel Malawi, disclosed today that it will be releasing its new year’s present to the nation on 31st December. This is a musical anthem comprising over 20 of the country’s top musicians in a track dubbed Mwezi Wawala (Tithyole Dansi).

Speaking at the press briefing at Audio Vision 360 in Blantyre, Airtel’s Brands and Communications Manager Isabel Kachinjika disclosed that Mwezi Wawala is a celebration of the Airtel brand and embraces the values of the brand.

“As a brand, Airtel’s vision is to enrich lives by helping our customers achieve their dreams. Through our network we also want to enable ourcustomers to be themselves, and express themselves freely in order to explore their full potential regardless of their race, beliefs or geographical boundaries,” stated Kachinjika.

The song which was produced by renowned Blantyre based producer, Tapps Bandawe, features a cross section of top Malawian artists including Piksy, Lucius Banda, Skeffa Chimoto, Blasto, Anjiru, Faith Mussa and Tigris.

“Through this song we believe Malawians will feel the heartbeat of the Airtel brand and come to understand what we are all about,” said Kachinjika adding; “ This is also something that has never been done before in Malawi; bringing together the best of the best to compose a song that will touch many lives”.

Kachinjika revealed that apart from creating unparalleled entertainment, this song will also touch the lives of less fortunate people in the country, stating that the proceeds from this song would be used to raise money for different causes so that those who don’t have a reason to smile can now celebrate because “Mwezi Wawala”.
