Balaka based Alleluya Band arrived Tuesday morning in Italy where it is expected to hold over 40 shows with an aim of fundraising for Comfort Community.
The band left Malawi on Monday through Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe.
The group’s band leader, Coss Chiwalo said they are in Italy not as Alleluya Band but as a group from Malawi.
Chiwalo said they will use part of the money to be fundraised during the shows in funding different projects at Andiamo in Balaka.
“It’s not easy to hold close to 40 shows but we are prepared and we are taking to Italy new acts,” said Chiwalo.
This is not the first time the Balaka based band has gone to Italy, as they did the same last year in September where they also performed 40 shows.
They performed in areas like Entratico, the village of Fr. Mario Pacifici.
The band also performed in Brazil at World Youth Day (WYD) festival.
