Alliance One Tobacco donates K11m library and a recreation hall
Alliance One Tobacco, a multinational tobacco company on Monday donated a K11 Million recreation hall and a library to Kalonga Full Primary School.
Alliance One Corporate Affairs Manager, Fran Malila, says the company decided to build the multipurpose hall as one way of assisting the school with income generating source.
Malila said the company remains committed in implementing government effort of making sure that learners are given conducive environment.
“We have been assisting this school for eighteen years and we will continue doing that,” said Malila.
Receiving the facilities, Lilongwe Coordinating Education Primary Advisor, Doreen Mayere, said government is grateful to Alliance One.
“The library will help to promote reading culture,” said Mayere.
Mayere said the hall will help to generate funds for the school.
Kalonga Primary School head teacher Tamara Mandindi said the facilities will help to improve quality of education.
Kalonga Primary school has 1,150 learners with 24 teachers. Alliance One Tobacco has also built school blocks at the institutions
