Speaking after unveiling the partnership in Blantyre, John Kachali, a  representative of Olli Meat Products during the occasion said they felt obliged to support the boxing stable as one way of giving back to the community.

“We felt we could assist Robin Alufandika, the owner of Alufandika Boxing Stable in supporting Brian and Agnes because they both are Malawians who support our company. We know most Malawians love our products hence this decision which is one way of thanking them for their support,” said Kachale who was flanked by one official from Olli Meat Products Limited.

In his remarks, Promoter for Alufandika Boxing Stable Robin Alufandika said the deal is timely as both Agnes and Brian are preparing for big fights.

“Let me start by thanking Olli Meat Limited for joining hands with our boxing stable in support for Brian and Agnes. This agreement has come at the right time because both boxers are in gym ahead of their upcoming fights. Agnes has a big international fight against a Zambian opponent early next month while Brian has to defend his local belt before October,” said Alufandika who is also a Technical Director for Azam Tigers Football club.

Responding to the development, Mtimaukanena said the sponsorship will help boost her preparations ahead of her  fight in September.

“As you might be aware that I am supposed to meet a Zambian boxer for a  title fight next month, this is a big boost to my preparations. I can’t wait for the day of the fight because Olli has really powered me. Malawians should expect a lot from Mtimaukanena because of this boost,” said Mtimaukanena who is married to Brian.

For his part, Brian welcomed the development which he said will go a long way in helping him defend his title.

The agreement is for a period of 6 months.
