The failed Chimutu ward councillor said he was grateful for the support he received and that “failure is wholly mine and I take the blame of not getting us the victory we expected.”

He offered “support and talents to Kwame.”

Andekuche asked those who are celebrating to do so “responsibly and not provoke others.”

“The election is now over, we must all move on, and that means moving on with hope and not holding on to grudges and bitterness. It’s time to make amends. Let’s work together over the next five years,” he wrote.

Kwame said he was “humbled” with his rival’s conceding defeat.
