Asian youth donates K8m drugs to Malawi hospital KCH

Lilongwe Asian Youth Community on Monday morning donated assorted drugs worth K8 Million to the Kamuzu Central Hospital including 395 dosages of rabies vaccine.

Spokesperson from the group Ishaq Tutla said the Asian Youth were touched by the reports of drug crisis  as it affected all Malawians who access public hospitals.

“We are responding to the call by authorities to do something to help our brothers and sisters. We are touched by the crisis and our group works as Malawians who want to give back the drugs,” said Tutla.

He said Worldwide Pharmaceticals gave them a discount and made also a donation after they had approached several businesses in Lilongwe to help in their cause.

Receiving the donation deputy KCH director David Mtontha praised the Asian Youth for remembering the hospital saying the disease burden is quite high during the rainy season.
