Bakili Muluzi pays Mutharika a courtesy call: Malawi
Malawi’s former president Bakili Muluzi on Wednesday October 8 paid a courtesy call on President Peter Mutharika at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre in what observers said was good signal for transformational leadership where former leader and the incumbent have the cordial relationship.
Muluzi in his capacity as Commonwealth Special Envoy to United Nations, went to Sanjika to brief the Head of State on the progress of the mediation talks on the democratic process taking place in Swaziland.
The former president said he had taken leave of the Malawi leader when he went to Swaziland and wanted to brief him.
State House press office said Muluzi and Mutharika had fruitful discussions.
Meanwhile, State House Press Office that Mutharika will on Thursday, October 9, 2014 host a luncheon for all 2014 presidential candidates who contested in the May 20 elections. The luncheon is expected to start 12 noon at Sanjika Palace.

Such that if Dr. Kamuzu was alive when Bingu was ruling this country, he would have invited him to Sanjika or Kamuzu Place. APM is in good books with Dr. Muluzi (2 & 5) & here they are chatting at Sanjika Palace. Likely, the one who will rule Malawi after… Read more »

Well done Dr Muluzi, that is the way to do it. Please give some lessons to JB so that she can also learn. It’s hard for her to understand as she was a president by accident.

That’s what mature politics entails. I will be happy again next time to hear that APM, amayi and Chakwera are involved in talks. There is no permanent hatred in politics and I have always known Bakili to be a person who doesn’t keep grudges. It is us who start unfounded speculations when opposition leaders meet the president. We only think that they want to join the ruling party. Shame! Let’s all build Malawi whether otsutsa or wolamula
