Be a millionaire in Malawi: Indebank launches Mbwe! Mbwe! Mbwe! Promotion
One of the country’s commercial banks, Indebank, has launched the Mbwe! Mbwe! Mbwe! Promotion targeted at fixed deposit account holders and customers stand a chance to win a grand prize of K1.5 million (about $3 571).
Indebank chief executive officer William Chatsala said eligibility into the promotion lies in opening fixed deposit accounts with a minimum value of K50 000 (about $119) for a minimum period of one month.
The promotion runs up to July 31 2013. Every month, one lucky customer will win a 32 inch plasma television screen. On the other hand, there will be fortnightly prizes of K10 000 (about $23) cash prizes, Black berry curves, Nokia 2330 phones, bicycles and other Indebank-branded items.
Chatsala added that entries would be in blocks of K50 000, meaning that customers who invest K200 000 (about $476), for instance, will have four entries in the promotion.
He said the promotion is“thank you” to customers for the bank’s profitability in 2012.
“Customers that will enter the promotion will earn up to 27 percent on interest depending on the value of the contract and tenor,” he said.
A grand prize of K1.5 million (about $3 571) awaits the overall winner at the end of the promotion.
