Bullets FC has also paid special tribute to the ground owners Illovo Sugar Corporation and the stadium managers for their respective roles in making sure that the ground is in good shape and offers entertainment to soccer lovers in Malawi’s central region.

Chitowe stadium which is situated within the Illovo-Dwangwa Sugar Estates and home ground for Salima based Malawi Armed Forces College (Mafco) outfit was constructed over three decades ago by Illovo Sugar Corporation and has been managed by Illovo-Dwangwa Company all along.

“We thank Mafco for choosing Chitowe Stadium to be their home ground. This is one of the grounds that are good in the country. It can be rated second to the Kamuzu Stadium and we are also happy for the ground owners in the way they look after the stadium and promote the game of soccer in the country,” said Bullets Team Manager, Rahim Ishmael Saturday.

Rahim, one of the youthful Soccer administrators in the country, was speaking after TNM re-launch for the second round which saw Bullets defeat home team Mafco with a goal from Yamikani Fodya, who has established himself as a free kick specialist.

Dwangwa is one of the townships in the country that has shown that it has many people that love sports, especially football, golf darts and cycling and the idea by Mafco to use Chitowe stadium as a home ground was received with enthusiasm by people from the township and Nkhotakota district as a whole, and in return, people from the people give the Army team moral support whenever it plays at Chitowe.

Illovo has a football team, Dwasco (Dwangwa Sugar Corporation) which stars in the Central region Chipiku premier league but once played for the Super league. The team is currently chasing leadership in the league. It has also produced football stars and coaches of international repute like Esau Kanyenda and Llyod Nkhwazi.

@ Trad, Kamuzu Academy might be the best pitch but in this regard we are looking at the grounds where SL teams play. Which team has KA as its home ground?

@Mzungumbuli-the name suggests who you really are. Chitowe z home ground 4 Mafco and nt Bulets. Bullets was playing away.

@ Alpha-that’s the right understanding and explanation. Stay blessed.

@ Vuvuzera-you seem to be speaking same language wt the so called Swazimbuli reporter.

    @ Sir-Chitowe z really a gud stadium.

@ Reporter- Yr gud storyhas been dented by yr failure to explain the real support the company called Illovo gives 2 Dwangwa United. Strive 2 perfect yr story next time.

ine ma reporter akuno sindidzawamvetsa ndisaname. you have posted an article praising a stadium but THERE’S NO PHOTO OF THE STADIUM !!!!! there’s just a photo of a guy with a beard…

what do those of us that have never seen it do now? what do those that would like to book it do? MIJ at it’s best

  13. Chatinkha says:

A Zungumbuli, you did not clearly understand the report in Nyasatimes. Its not BB claiming the Dwangwa Stadium to be their home ground , its MAFCO doing that and not Big Bullets. Big Bullets is just appreciating the condition of the Ground.

  14. Observer says:

Reading through the article it is very very clear that Bullets are not claiming home ownership of Chitowe Stadium and it sounds crazy how someone who claims to be knowledgeable (educated) fail to understand simple things as these. SHAME! All the BB team manager is doing is praising MAFCO FC for choosing Chitowe Stadium as their home ground and nothing else. We understand that BB is a destitute son, but at least his (its – as a destitute son) supporters are happy and contented.

  15. alpha says:

Kodi a Mzungumbuli mwamvetsa mu nkhaniyi omwe agwiritse Chitowe as home ground?
Kumvetsa kwa ine akuti ndi Mafco.

  16. Trad says:

Kamuzu Acadamy is the best. Artificial turfs like Kamuzu Stadium are the worst. Malawi has a lot of water sources to keep some beautiful pitches and gardens throughout the year. Koma popeza tikanali mtulo mpira tizimenyabe pa Kampala

  17. Mzungumbuli says:

Bullets ana asochera, opanda kwao, osowa pokhala, osowa ngakhale potsamila mutu. How can you come all the way from the Blantyre to claim a football ground in Dwangwa? Do you really know the meaning of “HOME GROUND” ??? FIND OUT FROM THE Dictionery.

  18. vuvuzela says:

Swazi wamtolankhani! Dwasco inasintha dzina pano ndi Dwangwa United komanso siili m’manja mwa Illovo, amangoyithandiza mwa apo ndi apo

  19. sir bentby says:
