“It is true that I have written NPL as advised by my client who is demanding an apology and a compensation of K90 million” Kanyenda said.

Kanyenda said if the publication does not comply, the matter will surely be taken to court.

On January 18, 2014, Mkandawire asked Chibambo to produced evidence of his claim which he has yet not produced up to date.

“What he [Chibambo] said is very damaging. Does he have evidence to prove his sensitive allegations?” Mkandawire was quoted by the paper.

Meanwhile, NPL Sports Editor Gracian Tukula said the matter is being reviewed by the company’s lawyers.
