Caps cancel friendly games against BB, Silver

CAPS united of Zimbabwe have cancelled their plans to play friendly games against Silver Strikers on Saturday and Bullets FC on Sunday at Silver Stadium this weekend.

The changes were effected after they called home to attend to other pressing issues in Zimbabwe.

TopSport Operations Manager Kevin Moyo said the team which played in the inaugural Zambezi Challenge Cup last weekend left on Tuesday.

But Moyo said the games would be played at date to be communicated later.

“They really wanted to play the pre-season games but they had to leave earlier to attend to other pressing issues back home,” Moyo said.

“But be assured that they would come to play the games.”

CAPS United have three Malawi players Gerrard Phiri Jnr who was signed last year and they have roped in Ishmael Thindwa and Tsanzo Dalio.

Thindwa impressed his new club when he scored crucial goals for the club to win the Zambezi Challenge Cup.

He scored in the team’s one-all victory over Silver Strikers and 1-0 against Wanderers in the final.

In a related development Bullets will instead face their bitter rivals Mighty Wanderers on Sunday at Kamuzu Stadium in a new-two legged pre-season match courtesy of IntoSports’ K5 million sponsorship.
