Chakwera, JB meeting raises questions in MCP
Malawi Congress Party (MCP) executive members said they are in the dark over the agenda of the meeting between their president Dr Lazarous Chakwera and Head of State Joyce Banda on Tuesday.
Nyasa Times understands that Chakwera had a courtesy call on President Banda at State House.
MCP officials said Chakwera informed the party of the meeting at the eleventh hour but kept the agenda close to his chest.
“We really don’t know why he went to the State House but we were just told the he has been invited,” MCP executive member said.
MCP spokesperson Jessies Kabwila and secretary general Gustav Kaliwo were all in the dark on what transpired at the meeting.
State House could not comment on the meeting.
