Chakwera visits MCP accident victims in hospital

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) president Lazarous Chakwera on Tuesday  went to Kamuzu Central hospital in Lilongwe to visit party supporters who were involved in a motor accident on Sunday. 

The MCP supporters – who were on their way to Masintha ground where the party’s torchbearer Chakwera was holding a rally were involved in road accident after the driver of the car they were traveling in failed to negotiate a corner at Bunda road block junction.

The 10 tonner lorry registration number DC 5449 had its doors opened due to over speeding.

The accident has left almost 15 supporters seriously injured with some having their legs and limbs broken.

Paying a courtesy visit to the victims, Chakwera described the incident as unfortunate.

Chakwera conversed with the accident victism and wished them speedy recovery.

The former president of Assemblies of God church in Malawi also prayed for the victims.
