Channel for All Nations to host 2014 Mlakatuli Festival
Channel for All Nations (CAN) will this weekend host Mlakatuli Festival where reknown poets will take turns entertaining people .
Those expected to perform are Felix Njonjonjo Katsoka, Mollen Nazombe, Nyamalikiti Nthiwatiwa, Sylvester Kalizang’oma and Hudson Chamasowa among others.
Mlakatuli Fest host Chris Loka of CAN said the aim behind the program is Channel for all nations is to demonstrate that Malawi is ready to empower poets and build an inclusive talent that is strong enough to lift poets out of their hidden and unrecognised places.
“The event is just one of many events that channel for all nations is hosting this year and it will be done across the nation.
“The event will begin with poetry workshop and almost 50 secondary Schools have been invited to be part of it with each school expected to send not less than four students,” said Loka who host a poetry program on CAN with Chikondi Chadza.
The festival will be held on Saturday in Lilongwe at ICA Marquee from 1pm and everyone will pay K1000 as entry fee.
