According to a statement from Chigoli Academy founder Alex Scot, the Bidvets Wits striker  met Chigoli officials last week to discuss on how they can work together.

“The 23-year-old Malawian forward is in a unique position among Malawian footballers having experienced first-hand the training and player development methods at an elite European side while training alongside global stars such as Deigo Costa, Jose Antonio Reyes, Radamel Falcao and Arda Turan,” the statement says.

Ngalande is the former Atletico Madrid academy player.

“Whilst Robin never made a first team appearance at Atletico, the education and experience makes him ideal to help the young Chigoli players understand the reasons why coaches at Chigoli deliver key coaching points that are basic requirements at a global elite level.”

He said: “Chigoli is giving the youth a great platform and inspiration to achieve and fulfil their goals and dreams. Based on the video clips I watched and also on the training session I attended, I have seen greatest talents of their age. These boys are destined for greatness.

“Most of them are tactically and technically brilliant and that’s a sign of being at a proper development structure. It is amazing to have these boys exposed to the future professional footballers’ life at this tender age because they will grow up knowing what is expected of them.”

Chigoli recently announced that all players will be on scholarships until they complete secondary school and tertiary education training opportunities, a move backed by Ngalande.
