Chimodzi returns to Silver as technical advisor

Young Chimodzi Snr has returned to Malawi’s top flight TNM Super League defending champions Silver Strikers as technical advisor the club which he coached.

The struggling Bankers has confirmed they have hired the services of Chimodzi with overseeing the salvation of the capital city giants

Silver Strikers General Secretary Mike Tembo said Chimodzi will be working on temporary basis and that no any formal contract has been signed.

“We have engaged him on temporary basis to help the coaching a panel with technical advice, we have no (formal) contract with him,” said Tembo,

He said his experience will definitely bring positive results at the club as it is yet to get a winning formula.

“Young is part of the Silver family having steered the club to greater heights during his time as a coach and player and we felt that with his vast experience and knowledge of the game, he could help breathe a new lease of life in the team” Tembo said.

Tembo said Chimodzi was the one who recommended names of Stain Chirwa and Francis Songo who are the interim coaches for Silver.

Chimodzi was tipped to take over the top post at Silver but turned down the full time job in fear of conflict of interest as he also have a running contract with Malawi government as a football development officer, this is according to Tembo.
