According to a report by Soccer Laduma online Chiukepo impressed but it is yet to be announced whether he was able to be signed before the end of the transfer window deadline of January 30.

Citing a source close  to the club ,  Soccer Laduma  reported that the 27-year-old has managed to impress Siwelele technical team who will now try to convince the management to sign him when they submit their report about the Malawian.

“He is more mature now than the time he was at Orlando Pirates and his game seems to have improved as well which is good for the team,” said the report.

It stated that Chiukepo’s work rate has been “a stand out feature of his trials.”

But the signing of two players has put the Malawian’s chance of being picked in jeopardy.

Bullets technical director Billy Tewesa, who is also the player’s agent, said he was yet to be briefed on his performance during the trials.

He was downplayed Celtic’s signing of two players to might affect his chances of securing a move.

“I am not aware that Celtic have signed two players and I don’t think this could affect Chiukepo’s chances,” Tewesa said.

Celtic rushed to engage Chiukepo for trials after his compatriot signed a pre-contract with Bidvest Wits in a bid to be his replacement.

Gabadinho Mhango has since been loaned to Golden Arrows for five months while waiting to join his club on July 1.

  1. Be on guard otherwise he may fade again on the bench. SA teams get our players just to turn them into spectators.

Chiukepo has been and is still a good player. He deserves to be regarded internationally but a great eye should be put onto him as South African may spoil his talent. He must play games as frequent as possible so that he keeps afresh and committed all round year.
