Choose Jesus, He will lead you to eternal life: part 2

Luke 16:24 gives us a true picture of torment in hell to an extent that the rich man requests that Lazarus may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool his tongue. This is evidence that there is no water and the torment does not come to an end.

This is a man who was respected while on earth, but now he is being tormented eternally.

What is the point to live a life without Jesus now and end up dying spiritually like the rich man? This is referring to those that refuse to part away from the pleasures of this world and accept Jesus.

Salvation comes with a cost because it requires many sacrifices as you cannot do the things that you used to do before being saved and even friends that you were very close to will no longer be your friends as your desires shift from the world, to spiritual things.

The same friends that thought you were fun, no longer see you fun because you are now different. “If you are of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world…” (John 15:19).

To explain the intensity of torment in hell, the rich man request that Lazarus be sent to his father’s house that they may change their ways not to end up in hell like him. He did not ask this for himself because he knew that once in hell there is no way out; How it is so easy to step into hell, but impossible to step out.

The word of God is now being preached everywhere, but the enemy has brought many things to keep people busy from reading, and sharing the true word of God with friends, family, and all those that surround them.

Remember that the souls of these people you are failing to share with the message of salvation are worth more than anything that you can think of because it’s about eternal life. The body will die but the soul will live forever.

The bible tells us to warn people so that they do not die lost. “When I say unto the wicked you shall surely die; and you give him not warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at your hand.” (Ezekiel 3:18).

Some people may say this is the first time they are hearing the message of salvation or may be thinking they have done many bad things, and have reached a point of giving up thinking God will not hear their prayer.

I want to encourage those that they are the reason why Jesus Christ came. God knew from the beginning that man will fail, and that is why He sent His only begotten Son to come and die for us. “For all have sinned and fell short of the Glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

While being saved and actively trying to do God’s will does mean sacrifice – salvation requires no sacrifice or work on our part at all. Jesus paid it all, we just get to choose to believe on Him and be saved or to not believe and go to Hell. It is written in Romans 4:5: “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” Salvation is by faith. Not of any works. I found in Malawi that many believe, but are messed up on the issue of losing salvation… Read more »
