With the win, Civo have  now moved to position 9  of the  table displacing defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets  who were not playing.

When the action got under way Civo dominated and should have led by more than Charles’s Chilembo’s goal.

Wizards blew their chance to have a goal when Joseph Anzeru missed a penalty.

And Chilembo’s goal  gave Civo the victory they richly deserved.

“We had a grand game and very important to collect maximum points,” said Civo coach Pofera Jegwe.

Wizards coach Peter Mponda was disspaointed, he said: “There in nothing pleasing about a defeat. We are sad  but we will pick up.”

Elsewhere, Red Lions  added more woes to rookies Max Bullets after beating them 2-1 at the Zomba Community centre ground.

Lions have now moved them to position 12 on the table with 10 points from 10 matches.

Peter Makwale scored Red Lions’ second while Freza Menyani scored the consolation goal for Max Bullets.

The result leaves Max Bullets on position 15 with 4 points from 11 games and they are still winless in the league.

At Mzuzu stadium,  Azam Tigers were held to a goalless draw by Moyale Barracks on Sunday afternoon.
