Comedy queen Kansiime set to rock Malawi again

Ugandan comedy queen Annie Kansiime will tour Malawi again in July as she is expected to perform at Bingu International Conference Centre Auditorium (BICCA) in the capital Lilongwe.

Kansiime, who is a writer, producer, stand-up comic and performer, will have a show on July 2, according to her manager, Johnson Mujungu.

Mujungu, the UK based promoter of  Grajoh,  posted on Instagram that the ‘Giggle Girl’  takes her brand of wit and humor to Malawi again after she first visited in 2014.

“Kansiime returns,”  reads the post.

Kansiime is hilariously funny. Her comedy skits on her Youtube channel, which she does both Swahili and English, are a big hit across the continent.

On  her social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter she posted about Malawi tour.

“Malawi mulibwangi! The #2016 KansiimeTour is starting in Malawi this year on 2nd July and I just can’t wait,” reads Kansiime’s post in rather mispelled Chichewa.

What makes her videos attractive is the fact that she brings out the everyday issues, they are precise and she says the things that any woman would love to say but fails to say so.

She started her comic journey as a second-year student at Makerere University in Uganda, when she joined Theatre Factory, the pioneer comedy outfit in Kampala that targeted the corporate audience.

Her status has risen over the years especially after moving to a new group, Fun Factory. She is today a YouTube comedy sensation, with most of her skits the most viewed in the region.
