The exercise aims at promoting community savings and investment among Public Works Programme workers and Social Cash Transfer beneficiaries through the provision of grants and technical support for capacity building and skills development in financial literacy, business management, environmental safeguards, nutrition, and health.

Comsip information, communication and education officer Emmanuel Muwamba said he was impressed with what people have achieved so far.

“Our vision is to promote a vibrant sustainable culture of savings and investment among ordinary Malawians to improve their livelihoods,” Muwamba said.

A member of Namgoneka Cluster, Cathleen Wonga, commended Comsip for the initiative, saying since she joined the cluster, her life has improved because of the small-scale businesses she is engaged in.
