Concerns for missing Malawian in South Africa: Relatives call for help

A 23 year old Malawian man identified as Mayeso Mmadi has reportedly gone missing in South Africa and his relatives have since pleaded for help to find their relation.

Missing: Mayeso Mmadi

Mmadi of Mtambalika village, (Mpamba) in the area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Timbiri in Nkhata Bay district went missing since Friday, April 21, 2017.

And according to media reports and his sibling Oscar Mmadi, Mayeso went missing while they were at a music show in Randburg.

“On the material day, we went to a music show in Randburg where Oga Family from Zambia were performing. At around 2am he told some of our companions that he is tired and he is heading back home”, Oscar said.

He added “when we reached home at Four Ways, we did not find him at the house and we waited until morning suspecting that he will come back home, yet he never did. Since then, there hasn’t been any sort of communication with him as his cell phone is not accessible.”

A search for him by his relatives at health facilities and Police stations has yielded nothing.

And his cousin, Jacob Mtambalika has urged well-wishers to join the search for Mayeso Mmadi.

“Please help so that we get our relations back. Those with any information can contact me through Facebook or through 0994350741 / 0882673363,” said Mtambalika in his appeal.

And those that may have seen or have information may also report to any Police station in South Africa or contact Mayeso Mmadi relatives on the following numbers +27613 448 745,+2778 818 2284 and +27789 199 944.

Fallout Phiri has said it loud and clear. My addition to all fellow young people in RSA, forget about enjoyment, patronage in shows and drinking places. RSA is not safe to everyone. Keep the money and use it when you are back in Malawi. Remember you are not in Malawi where your safety is guaranteed.

This must be a lesson to all Malawian youth in RSA. I pray that he should be safe wherever he is.

that’s too bad,,,,,in fact Johannesburg has a lot of criminals ,walking during the night is like telling the world that you’re tired of life…..let’s hope he is alive wherever he is……But I would like to take this opportunity to advise foreign youths going to RSA to refrain from the behaviour of walking or attending overnight shows…you’re . RSA is not your home,,,so its easy to meet threats to your life…..

Go and check at the mortuary. He might have been killed. You guys don’t Jozi. Moving around at night or early hours is a recipe for disaster. JOZI is full of criminals at night. No one is safe.
