Embattled Vice President Khumbo Kachali was also in attendance and received plaudits for “warmly giving support to the wedding”, according to a family member of Mkhosi.

The wedding, which also attracted international dignitaries, started with church officiation in the morning where they exchanged his marriage vows and later moved to Edingeni Community Centre ground.

Speaking to the new couple at the cake ceremony, President Banda congratulated the youthful Crown Prince on his wedding and wished the new couple a happy married life before presenting the couple with gifts.

President Banda said getting married looks simple, but there are challenges.

Banda advised the newlyweds to seek God always saying the fear of the Lord is the start of wisdom.

“Things are simple when you start marriage. However, you need to be strong hearted to endure this journey because if you are not you will abandon it. My Humble plea is that if you have not welcomed God in your marriage please go on your knees tonight and ask him to be part of your marriage so that you have peace in your family,” she said.

A member of the Jere royal family thanked President Banda for her gesture in supporting the colourful wedding.

“As a family we could not have succeeded in hosting the wedding of such magnitude that in why we could not do otherwise but to extend the call for help beyond the people of Mzimba,” he said.

James Munthali from the Princess family, who flew his family from USA,  told Mkhosi that by choosing Beauty Munthali as a wife he had gotten more than what he saw.

“She was raised by the whole village. You have really gone on the mark. We are confident that Beauty will provide you with the counsel and advice,” Munthali said.
