Done deal: Wandereres complete signing of Cameroonian Assu
Mighty Be Forward Wanderers have finally completed the signing of impressive Cameroonian striker Lionel Assu after paying K1.4 million.
His agent Prince Jere confirmed with Nyasa Times on Friday, saying the blue will pay the balance of signing-on fee by May 31.
“Assu has signed a one year contract with Wanderers,” confirmed Jere.
The Assu deal looked have to bottomed out after the player ad his agent demanded upfront payment of signing fee.
But after a closed door meeting which took place at Wanderers club Friday night, the deal was concluded successfully
Present during the meetings was Nomads chairman George Chamangwana, Board Chair James Chuma, Secretary Mike Butao, Prince Jere and Assu.
That means the Nomads fans can have a chance to watch Assu on Saturday against Azam Tigers.
“”It feels great to complete the deal,” said Assu.
“It’s taken long but I’m happy it has been sorted. I am ready to play and hopefully I can settle in as quickly as possible, have a good start and go from there,” he added.
Wanderers chairman Chamangwana said he hopes the addition of Assu will help propel his side in the league campaign.
“I am confident he’ll add something to the Nomads and I’m delighted we’ve managed to get him here,” said Chamangwana.
