It is good to associate with all people regardless of other people’s spiritual life but as children of God we should be clever to know our limits. If you associate too much with the world, within a short time you will be like them. Be you therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves (Mathew 10:16).
The Bible has a sad story of Samson who chose to marry a Philistine wife against the will of God and his own parents. This actually demonstrates how Christians fall from the things of God to things that the world finds its joy and strength. The law of God said that there was to be no marriage with the heathen which is actually telling us that there is nothing that children of God can benefit from those that are not believers apart from being made just like them.
Samson became just like the philistines when he got married to a philistine woman, Delilah that the spirit of God departed from him after they had shaved off his hair. The sad thing that I notice from all this is that the first thing that the Philistines did quickly when they got hold of him was to put out his eyes, then they bound him with fetters of brass.
Typical what happens when a Child of God associates with the world; you lose your spiritual eyesight and liberty. You are no longer able to see what is right or wrong because you just become one of them. You cannot make any progress in life because the enemy makes sure that you cannot go back to God, therefore brings all sorts of things in your life.
The bible tells us in Judges 16:19 that his wife Delilah begun to afflict him after he noticed that his power was gone. Oh yes this is where most oppressions, sicknesses, depression, anxiety are coming from. It is all oppression from the enemy as the hedge of protection that was protecting you as a child of God is no longer there. The bible tells us that the thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill and to destroy (John 10:10).
This story of Samson; shows us that our God is a God of love. Even after you fall down, you can still rise up again. Judges 16:22 tells us that the hair of Samson’s head begun to grow again after he was shaved. This means that the believer can still come back. The hair spiritually can begin to grow again if you allow God to work one more time in your life.
Judges 16:28 tells us that Samson called unto the Lord and said, “Oh Lord God, remember me, I pray you, and strengthen me, I pray you, only this once , O God that I may be at once avenged of the philistines for my two eyes”. God still heard his prayer at that time. I know there are people with situations reading this, you may have separated yourself from God, remember that he is a God of love that has promised us to call unto his name, and he will hear and answer us if we chose to go back to God today.Follow and Subscribe Nyasa TV :
