The song was written and arranged by budding songwriter and artist George Wiseman Gondwe who also features in the song and performed by the Sendela Sisters known for famous songs such as sendelani, Apita ndi Patali, Menyeleni Nkhondo and it features the voice of President  Peter Muntharika.

In an interview with Nyasa Times, the composer George Wiseman Gondwe revealed that the song  draws its inspiration from the bible and centres on Romans 8:31 that states ‘what then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?’

Gondwe said he believes the President took his inspiration from Deuteronomy 3:32 which says ‘Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you’.

The song  is rumoured to have been bankrolled by Dowa Central Parliamentarian for DPP, Jean Kalilani the mother of popular hip hop artist Tay Grin.

Commenting on the songs milestone, Dumisani Kapanga the Founder and CEO of Mvelani said: “We congratulate the Sendela Sisters for breaking our record and reaching this milestone, the song’s popularity is a testament to the effectiveness of the platform that we have created that allowing artists to get their songs heard easily and giving music lovers access to thousands songs from different artist on an easy to use platform accessed from all their devices. We are looking forward to working with them when they release their upcoming album.”

Kapanga added ‘1,000 plays within 24 hours is a remarkable milestone.

Mvelani is a popular Malawian streaming platform established in January 2015 and aims at helping music lovers listen, share and discover new and old African music. The company is expanding its presence to Nigeria and Kenya.

Again God allowed his people to be taken to exile in Babylon, Malawians are suffering while DPP are enjoying. Mr Wiseman has missed God’s theme. Hopefully, one day he will come to his senses to see the truth. Just sing the song without… Read more »
