Dwangwa coach Mtetemera’s future in limbo

A cloud of uncertainty surrounds the future of Dwangwa United Coach McDonald Mtetemera having saved the team from relegation in the TNM Super League.

Dwangwa coach MC Donald Mtetemera: In suspense

Mtetemera signed a one-year contract which has just ended.

Inside sources said Mtetemera has fallen out with some of the team’s officials who have lost confidence in the team.

“Some of the officials feel he is not good enough for the job going by last season performance,” said.

Dwangwa United general secretary Samson Zimba confirmed the development saying the executive is yet to decide on Mtetemera’s future.

“Our coach was on one year contract and the season is over so we have to decide whether to retain him or not,” Zimba Said.

“There’s nothing wrong with that it’s the normal way of how contracts are handled.”

But Mtetemera did not take Zimba’s remarks lightly saying it is a clear sign that his services are not needed.

“If they don’t want my services I will go home to farm,” he said.

He said by saving the team from relegation with meagre resources showed that he has done his part and would have expected a new deal.

The former MDC United player and coach was engaged shortly after the team was promoted back to Malawi’s top league, Super League.

He was tasked with the responsibility of keeping the team in the league.
