This reminds me of the past LWB slogan which my late friend Erick Nsolomba…..former CEO coined…” Water is not everything but there is nothing without water” . May his soul rest in eternal peace.

There is no argument about the importance of the project but, being realistic, raising US$0.5 billion with a sovereign guarantee woe redit rating is very much sub-investment is no mean task. Concessional funding from the conventional bilaterals and multilaterals would required the studies to be completed and thereafter a procurement process that ensures economy, efficiency and transparency.

Not after the Hon George Chaponda took part in the negotiations which means that it wasnt a clearn deal , MCP and DPP were all given kickbacks that’s were all the support is coming from , money is the binging of all the evils on earth , let the project come under other construction company not this corrupt Simbi and Hon George Chaponda to be a signatory for this expensive project.

Every one is a ware of the need to have water in Lilongwe. Actually we were supposed to a project of this nature yesterday. The concerns are lack of feasibility and EIA studies on the project. This is a mega project that can not just start without the studies. Those of you who do not see merit in the arguments are lay men in construction projects and you do not know what are… Read more »
