TV personality to represents Malawi at BBA house

As the clock to the commencement of Big Brother Africa- BBA 3 continues ticking, surely Malawians keenly await to know who will be carrying the Warm Heart of Africa's flag in the house this year. 

The continental television reality show, which will be entering its third season since inception, is scheduled to be ignited this Sunday at Sessani Studios' BBA house in Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa. 

Chimwemwe Nyirenda, Sales and Marketing Manager for MultiChoice Malawi, providers of digital satellite television (DStv) service said the three months rousing veracity event, will be beamed on BBA exclusive channel 198 as well as M-Net.   

He further indicated that DStv subscribers in Malawi were so thrilled that the long-awaited show would be back on their screens this week. 

"All is set and as usual, we are sending our representative at this year's Big Brother Africa 3. We definitely know that Malawians are expecting a lot considering our impressive representation last year,” said Nyirenda. 

"Our previous ambassador Code [Sangala] survived for 77 days and therefore, people in the country expect that our housemate this year will go further than that," he told Nyasa Times, adding DStv subscribers should lookout for more things than simply watching events as they will be unfolding in the house. 

Quizzed on who will be representing the south-eastern Africa republic, Nyirenda was noncommittal saying, "That's where the enthusiasm on BBA onset comes in. At present, no one knows who will be representing their countries, and that's why everybody wants to view the onset of the event so as to see their envoys in the house." 

Meanwhile, there are fevered speculations that an eminent personality working for the state-controlled Malawi Television (TVM) [name withheld] will be representing the nation in the imminent show. 

During the two previous events, the country was represented by Zein Dudha and Sangala respectively.  

Sangala became one of the heroes in Malawi. People credited him for showcasing his true Malawian characters, which many believed led to his endurance in the house. 

He was the eighth [out of twelve] housemate to be evicted from BBA 2 house after 10 countries voted against him instead of Tanzania's Richard, who won the competition and went home with the US$100 000 ( equivalent to K14 million). 

In an interview with Nyasa Times, Sangala advised this year's representative to go into the BBA house with all the natural energy.  

He also called upon Malawians and all well-wishers to rally behind the country's next envoy. 

"Whoever shall be representing us at the BBA house should maintain the natural vitality. If that person passed through auditions it means people saw his or her potential, therefore that uniqueness should be maintained in the house. It's not difficult to make a distinction if one is genuine or bogus, so if people realise that you are being fake then you are finished,” said Code. 

Code called for patriotism in supporting the Malawi representative.
