Lucius Banda ‘disappointed’ with ban on state radio
Malawi music icon Lucius Banda said he is disappointed with reports that government has banned his music from his new album 15-15 on state radio, MBC.
The state has put a warning to all staffers at MBC national broadcaster not to play Lucius’s music.
In an interview with private owned, Capital Radio which is playing his music, the musician said he was disappointed with the ban.
“I am very disappointed. I am disappointed because people have to listen to my music on radio so that they can sample and buy,” he said
“It’s a big blow as a musician and a citizen,” said the musician.
He however urged Malawians and to tune to private radio stations to listen to his music.
The musician said he will use live shows with his Zembani band to promote his 15th album.
Banda nonetheless said he will drag the state media to court over the matter.
The songs in 15-15 album are (Volume 1); ‘Ndalephera Kupilira Ine,’ ‘Ndisiyileni Kanga,’ ‘Musandiwuze Nsanje,’ ‘My Song 15 15,’ ‘Seen the Worst,’ Wanga Kheliwe,’ ‘Chamwini,’ ‘Start Again Please,’ and ‘Broken Heart.’
Others (Volume 2) are; ‘Mbale Wanga Ndiwe,’ ‘Christmas Song,’ ‘Mafumu a Padziko,’ ‘Never Alone,’ ‘Ndiyankhuleni,’ ‘Wandichotsa Manyazi -Natasha,’ ‘Bambo Anga,’ ‘Ndidzakhala Naye,’ and ‘Mudzandikumbukira.’

The more you ban Lucious songs,the more people will be interested to buy those songs and will be eager as to what is in those songs.
Cry my beloved country.Its has gone back to Dr Banda dictatorial time.its shame thinking that we have moved on,but this Dheliwala is pulling us backward.
