Epac former coach Audrow Makonyola: Being considered for return

General Secretary Chiyembekezo Lita said Epac sponsored by business tycoon and politician Dean Josiah Banda had shortlisted veteran Alex Masanjala and former coach Audrey Makonyola

But Lita said the team was still hopeful to compromise with their favourite Makawa to return to the fold.

“We are discussing with Abbas Makawa to see whether we can agree on terms. We didn’t offer the contract because we had outstanding issues with former coach Leo Mpulula,” he said.

“We are also looking at seasoned coach Alex Masanjala and former Audrey Makonyola who knows the system.”

But the interest in Makawa has raised over the administration of the team as it came barely after accepting him to leave the team

Makawa said Epac had failed to honour contractual agreements after leading the team from a dramatic escape from relegation coming from behind to win 2-1 over favourites Dedza Young Soccer Stars.

Epac needed a win while a draw for rookies Dedza would have been enough for them to survive at the expense the old guards.
