Evangelist Palau to hold ‘Love Malawi’ festival

Malawi is this year expected to  host world evangelist Andrew Palau for his ‘Love’  Festivals which are slated to take place in the Capital City Lilongwe.

The event which is named after the renown World Evangelist Andrew Palau is expected to unite various denomination under the umbrella body of Evangelical Association of Malawi(EAM).

Briefing reporters, Palau said he was delighted that his Ministry will be in Malawi to serve the word of God and that Malawians “ should experience the fullness of Christ.”

EAM General  Secretary Rev Francis Mkandawire said Malawians will benefit a lot with the Love Malawi Festivals.

Mkandawire said business and civic leaders will collaborate with the local churches and Palau team to bless Lilongwe with Palau’s biblical messages of hope.

“The event will feature a musical performances by local and international artists, BMX and FMZ stunt, demonstrations by professional athletes, entertainment for kids, and Good News presentation,” said Mkandawire.

Love Malawi festivals will also include Satellite festivals in five additional cities throughout Malawi, affinity outreach events for business and Civic Leaders.

Prior to the event Palau Ministries is expected to bring in the country eye experts who will be treating people with eye problems free of charge and that the Ministry will also hold special outreach Programme at Dzaleka Refuge Camp.

Andrew Palau has shared the Gospel with millions of people around the world. Love Burundi Festival in Bujumbura drew more than 60,000 attendees. He has also hosted events in Kampala, Uganda (87,000 attendees); Kigali, Rwanda (73,000 attendees); and Cairo, Egypt (13,000 attendees). The Secret Life of a Fool, a memoir of his journey from delinquent youth to international evangelist, is available now.

As one way of smoothening preparations, the Palau Association has established a local office in Malawi which is being coordinated by the Deputy EAM Deputy Secretary General, Reverend Grey Mwalabu.

The office will run till the main date of actual event which is 20-21 August this year.

Currently, various sub-committees have been established.

Reverend Maurice Muthali is chairperson of Media Taskforce and while Baldwin Chiyamwa is his deputy.

Some of the well known faces in various task force include Bishop elect Charles Tsukuluza, Apostle Madalitso Mbewe, Reverend Brian Kamwendo, Evangelist Elias Sauli, Reverend Dr Levi Nyondo, Bishop Gilford Matonga, Reverend Dr Zacc Kawalala, Arch Bishop Mark Kambalazaza, Nkhoma Synod Moderator Dr Chatha Msang’ambe .

Church leaders representing numerous denominations anticipate that Love Malawi Festival will have a positive impact to the nation.

Christianity is still relevant in this permissive tech-savvy modern world of ours.

Izi ndiye zamapwala abale – how many people will preach to us poor Malawians. Olo mulunguyo alibe chisoni kungotisiya tikapse bwanji? This is too much – Joyce Meyer, Bashiri, Kawalala, JB, Mpinganjira, Tsukuluza, Nampota, Mbewe, Living Waters etc – aaaaaahhh – kapena ndife osatheka basi.
