Former District Commissioner (DC) of Chiradzulu, Sipho Moyo, has been given a top position in the United Kingdom (UK) wing of the governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) .
Moyo, who among others served as secretary general of Mighty Wanderers FC in Malawi before going to UK, was elected vice chairman in the executive of DPP-UK wing at the conference which took place at Kingshurst & District Labour Club, in Birmigham, on July 9.
The conference also renewed the mandate of its chairman Finley Mbella and coordinator Duncan Tim Zambezi
DPP-UK wing also elected Neza Chatuwa (secretary), Marlene Chitedze (vice secretary), Margaret Themuka (treasurer), Hilda Moyo ( vice treasurer), Langa Ndovi (vice co-ordinator), Lewis Kamundi ( Strategist), Vice Strategist( Peter Zambezi).
Others are, publicist Ken Mjojo, Tinali Alfazema- Events organiser, Caroline Zambezi-Vice Events Organiser, Dana less Phiri- fundraising organiser, Emma and Marvin Chirupani- Vice fundraising organiser and Richard Katimba who has been elected as head of ICT.
Mbella said he was pleased with the new team of DPP-UK wing.
“The organisation decided to appoint a team that is very dedicated and motivated to work with the DPP government in order to help achieve their goals,” said Mbella.
“ This team will work by following the three pillars, namely Integrity, patriotism and hard work, which were unveiled by our President, His Excellency Prof. Arthur Peter Muntharika,” he added.
