Fam Competitions Manager accused of being Bullets fan

Mighty Wanderers Football Club has attacked Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Competitions Manager Gomezgani Zakazaka accusing him of “unprofessional” behaviour and being a  Big Bullets fan.

This follows a defeat the Nomads suffered in the hands of their bitter rivals Big Bullets in a Semi final of the 2014 Carlsberg Cup played at Civo Stadium two weeks ago.

A Nomads official Christopher Kananji accuses Zakazaka of pushing for a K250, 000.00 fine by the F.A to the nomads for using an illegal entry point into the field of play before the semi final crush.

The Nomads were also fined for arriving at the venue of the match late.

Kananji told a local radio that the competitions manager is a “Big Bullets Fan” and that his gestures have been very unprofessional.

He claims Zakazaka showed his true Bullets colours when he was spotted dancing with Bullets players while dressed in Bullets regalia.

“Before the match, Zakazaka dressed a yellow T-shirt labelled competitions on the back but immediately after the match he went out of the stadium to change his clothes. This time he appeared dressing a red shoe, red T-shirt and red shoes and he was busy dancing with Chilapondwa [Bullets player],” claimed Kananji.

“This shows that he is a Bullets fan and don’t deserve to be at Fam and looking at the fine letter we received, it was signed by him giving us doubts on whether the punishment was real.” added Kananji who admitted the Nomads arrived late at the stadium by 25 minutes.

He also defended his team that they entered the stadium using covered stands because the passage to the field was inaccessible.

But when Nyasa Times contacted Zakazaka to get his reaction towards the accusations, he laughed off Kananji’s claims and vehemently refused to comment on the matter.
