FAM fine Nomads  for ‘unsporting behaviour’

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) on Saturday slapped Mighty Wanderers with K200,000.00 for “unsporting behaviour” after accusing the team of delaying match protocols by 25 minutes during Carlsberg Cup semi finals lto Big Bullets on Saturday at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

Nomads, who came to the stadium 25 minutes late,  lost the game 0-1.

According to a letter from FAM signed by its vice chairman for competitions committee James Mwenda, the Nomads has been fined for  “unsporting behaviour and bringing the game of football into disrepute.”

For this offence, the Nomads are requested to pay a fine of k2,000.00 for each minute delayed.

The second offence committed by the Nomads is refusing to use the designated dressing room entry and opting to use the covered stands.

For this offence, the Nomads have been fined a sum of k200,000.00.

The Nomads have 24 hours to appeal to the charges and fines.
