Feast of basketball games at BYC: Bricksnation Fun Day on Saturday
Blantyre Youth Centre will on Saturday host different sporting activities from basketball, sack races, jumping castles, face painting and music performances, according to Victor Jere, who is one of the organizers of the event which has been dubbed, ‘Bricksnation Fun Day’.
“The day will be filled with various activities for both young and old. There will be jumping castles, face painting, sack races and other fun activities for the children and young at heart. For the more mature children and adults, there will be assorted drinks for sale, braai,” said Jere.
He also said there will be music performances from urban stars like Barry Uno, Dan Lu and Hyphen, not forgetting Basketball games.
Jere said the Bricksnation Fun Day is being organized to help bring back the love for basketball that has been lost in recent times.
“In order to showcase that the beautiful game is still a wonder when played at the highest level, some of the best teams in the nation have been invited to take part in exhibition games,” he said.
CEZOBAL champions Cougars, the Zomba based King of the Court champions Magang’a, Central Knights who recently represented Malawi in a tournament in Swaziland, the ever present force to be reckoned with Mimbulu, the recently established yet high flying Mikoko, an all-star selection from the Blantyre corporate league, them Pirates, and of course the hosts; Bricksnation.
Ladies are also encouraged to come and be inspired as they will witness Lady Bricks will take on Clippers in ladies exhibition game that will be sure to excite the senses.
Charges are K500.00 to watch the event.
