Rest in peace Baba. It was at Chilema ETCC when we were revising “the Way of the Cross” booklet. On one page a certain priest suggested to change the phrase … msana wa Yesu ung’ambika ndi mikwapulo. He argued that msana sumang’ambika. I remember how you reacted, “Aaa! Aaa! Baba umang’ambika”. So you remembered the what you went through.

It is sad this great man of both the people and GOD is gone. I don’t know how many times I have read “The Life of George Ndomondo: Shepherd Boy, Clerk, Politician, Guerrilla General, Detainee, Priest”, a very rich book (he co-authored with Colin Baker) on Malawi’s history from the mouth of a participant and his moving personal story, a story that would make anyone say: “Surely, GOD saved this man for a purpose.” When I read this sad news, I went for the book again, looking at him on the cover, a complete human being in a brown jacket… Read more »
