FMB increases U-20 league sponsorship to K20 million

First Merchant Bank (FMB) has announced the increase of youth district football sponsorship and has doubled from K10 million to K20 million.

FMB again increased the sponsorship money from K6 million to K10 million mid last year.

The bank’s Marketing Manager Slyvia Mataka said the company decided to increase the sponsorship following smooth running of the competition.

Mataka further said that the sponsors are happy that the objectives of the youth league are being mate.

“When we were starting others were saying are wasting money and resources and were suggesting we support super league clubs but we are happy that our objective of identifying and showcasing hidden talent is being mate” said Mataka.

Meanwhile, the league has taken a step further as it has extended to a lot more three districts of Karonga, Mchinji and Nkhatabay.

Other districts are Blantyre, Zomba, Lilongwe City, Mzuzu and Nkhatabay.

Speaking on behalf of the National Youth Football Council, Mabvuto Misi said the council is delighted with the increase of sponsorship money.

He said they will safeguard the sponsorship and make sure that the league is being run in a transparent and accountable manner.

“We will put the sponsorship to good use and we will try as much as possible to be transparent and accountable to help in fulfilling the dream of the sponsor” said Misi.
