Four Bullets players sneak out to undergo trials in South Africa and Tanzania

Four Nyasa Big Bullets players namely Sankhani Mkandawire, Muhammad Sulumba, John Lanjesi and Owen Chaima are reported to have sneaked out of the country on Monday and are expected to undergo trials in South Africa and Tanzania.

Unconfirmed reports indicates that goalkeeper Chaima and defender Sankhani Mkandawire have arrived in Tanzania where they will be assessed at Mbeya FC a team coached by our own former Flames head coach Kinnah Phiri while Lanjesi and Sulumba have gone to try their luck at Polokwane City in South Africa.

Surprisingly, Big Bullets officials claim they are not aware of the development.

According to Technical Director Billy Tewesa, he is just hearing the news but no official communication has been made to him in his capacity as Technical Director.

Tewesa however described the move as worrisome since they already have a long injury list.

“If I was informed I couldn’t have let them go since we already have several of our players injured. And Sankhani has just recovered and we were hoping he will ease some of the problems we have in our defence,” Tewesa said in an interview with a local radio on Monday night.

Few weeks ago, some other two players George Nyirenda and Miracle Gabeya again sneaked out to South Africa to undergo trials without the blessing of their club and ended up coming back.

Maybe the players know that the officials dont have their welfare at heart. If the majority arent paid their signing-on fees nde ngati mwai ungapezeke asapite mozemba when they know that if they dare ask for permission to go out they wont be allowed? Let us organise our house first and then blame the players when they mishandle issues osati anthu sitikuwapatsa zomwe akuyenera kulandila nde akachita zina tizingowanena ai.

Smh. There’s something seriously wrong with the officials. And I think we need to have our Super League running concurrently with the PSL otherwise our teams will keep getting disturbed.
