Gabadinho scores for Celtic on PSL debut

Former Bullets striker Gabadinho Mhango launched his professional career in South Africa for Bloemfontein Celtic on a promising note after scoring on his league debut on Tuesday.

Mhango, who was cleared to play for the team last week after being handed his work permit, equalised in added time to salvage a point for the hosts and ensured that the German coach Ernst Middendorp’s tenure not to begin with a loss.

Middlendorp replaced Clinton Larsen who joined Maritzburg United.

Lerato Manzini scored the first goal in the 42nd minute for Celtic while form South Africa’s Bafana Bafana celebrated diminutive striker Siyabonga Nomvete scored twice for the Birds late on either side of the half.

The goal has paid off Celtic fans who touted the Malawian star after he was issued the work permit.

However the result is still not good for Celtic as they have taken their tally to seven points from seven games and are perching on position 11 in the 16-team league.
