Gang burns woman to death
Police in Mchinji are looking for people who allegedly torched a woman to death at Chimwemwe estate at Mkanda in the district.
According to police relations officer for Mchinji Sergeant Moses Kajawa Nyirenda on 26 June police found a dead woman at Chimwemwe estate who was pierced by the knife and later burnt to death.
Nyirenda said police failed to identify the woman as she was brutally murdered and people surrounding the estate said they do not know the woman.
Nyirenda also said the woman whom police think is from Zambia is suspected to be a business person and seems to be of 30 to 35 years old.
Mchinji police have since appealed to the general public who can trace the deceased to report to the nearest police station for clarification on the matter.
The body of the woman was buried at the scene as it was rotten following the incidents the lady went through leading to her death.
