Gang of criminals attack Right Price Wholesale Shop in Zomba

Unknown criminals attacked and stubbed the Shop Manager of Zomba Right Price Wholesale as they were trying to steal money on Friday morning.

According to an eye witness, Holyce Ikani who is also Shop Assistant, the incident happened at around 8:30am as they were opening the shop for normal business.

Ikani told Mana reporter that as they were opening the shop in the morning at around 8:30am, four unknown people and other customers got inside the shop.

He said the criminals ordered three shop assistants to lie down and asked the shop manager to give them keys and cashbox.

‘’Two of the criminals stayed outside and two others were inside the shop and had closed the door with other customers there and they were demanding keys for the cashbox.

“One of them who produced a knife, beat up our cashier and stubbed the shop Manager, Andrew Tembo on the right arm,” said Ikani.

“After realizing that there were Police Officers who were Patrolling the city, the one who was outside the shop alerted his friends and ran away using a motor vehicle which was not identified,” Ikani added.

Zomba Police also confirmed the development saying nothing had been stolen from the shop since the presence of Patrolling Police Officers assisted to prevent the criminals from fulfilling their mission.

Patricia Sipiliano who is Police Spokesperson for Zomba Police said investigations were underway to arrest the culprits.

Police have since asked business people in the district not to panic assuring them of maximum security as they go about their businesses.

How can you assure maximum security to someone who has already been stubbed? The statement in the last paragraph could have been avoided by this publicity policewoman.
