All the top teams Kukoma Diamonds, Tigresses, and Thunder Queens have been out of action having contributed more players to the Queens who took part in the Fast Five World netball series.

Speaking after releasing the program for this weekend, fixture secretary for the southern region netball league, Annie Hanjahanja said people should come in large numbers on Sunday at the Blantyre Youth Centre to watch their best teams.

“We have lined up a program that will involve Diamonds, Tigresses and Thunder who have been out of action for almost a month or so now. We are delighted to welcome them back especially after making the nation proud at the Fast Five.

“You cannot talk about netball in the  country without mentioning the three teams as they contribute a lot of players to the Queens. And as Southern region netball league, we are previledged to have these teams on our league,” said Hanjahanja.

The first game will be between Young Professionals and Thunder Queens before Gerald Tasaukadala takes on Tigresses

. The major setback for Thunder is that they will miss the services of Captain Joana Kachilika who is reported to have travelled to Tanzania soon after arriving from Australia. Diamonds will finish the day’s program with a litmus test against Mary Waya’s Alliance Capital.
